Let the Sewing Begin

I'm not a fan of sewing.  I am not proficient on the sewing machine, and it's taken me years to be able to sew in a straight line.  I don't know what it is.  It's never been easy for me.  Maybe I don't put enough time into it.  I wish I could just whip anything up on the sewing machine, but it's always been a struggle for me...

My machine usually sits covered like this when I'm in the midst of a project.  Can't you tell I'm working on something?  We're going on month 2 of repairing my Velcro on the cloth diapers.  I loathe this.  7 left out of 24.  If you look closely, you can also notice that my machine cover is unfinished...

Following me so far?  Hand sewing is the absolute most horrid type of sewing I can imagine. (I can't imagine too much because I'm not up on my sewing skills, but still.)  Lucky for me that every single one of my dolls and many of my other projects require some level of hand sewing.  Awesome, right?  So imagine my pure horror when I hit the part of the project that is all sewing.  This is what I'm doing today.  Just poke my eyes out with a dull spoon now.  Please.

  1. I feel your pain. The sewing up is always the part of a project I hate the most. The bits and bobs look great though, can't wait to see her all together.
