Cowled Flight of the Aviator

So this is a little late today.  I've been a little besides myself over a few things that I have no control over.  I haven't managed to figure out how to let go of that stuff and be on my merry way.

custom toddler aviator hat wip
I've been working on this little toddler aviator hat for a friend of mine for a few days now. It's been slow going because I have been writing down the pattern so I can make another one in different colors for Dr. Destructo Toddler.  Here's the almost finished hat.  I think I'll end up lining the black "goggles" with some cream yarn, so they don't get lost in the brown.  Should be fabulous.

snowboarding (listado) cowl wip
There's been intermittent knitting also.  This week started very sad, so the knitting, while not mindless, was a very nice distraction.  I was (and still am) having difficulties bringing out the creative side of me to get some monster work done.  I'd like to, but I'm not sure when that will happen. I'm working on a cowl for myself for snowboarding in the meantime.  Here it is 1 repeat in.  Only 20 more to go!

Also.  Just as a nice reminder for everybody... it's rude to push your snow up on your neighbor's property.  It's especially rude to pile it all up on your neighbors shrubs and flowers.  This part of my day is making the "Just for today, I will not anger" thing I've been trying to work on very, very, very, very, very difficult to manage.

  1. Sometimes it's good to work with a pattern other than your own so you don't have to think so hard for a while. It's a form of meditation and that's rarely a bad thing. Hope your week gets better soon.

  2. Thanks. It'll be better on Sunday for sure... I can handle it until then, and hopefully get most of this cowl done. :)

  3. The lining on the aviator goggles sounds like a good idea. Great work!

  6. The aviator hat definitely is so much better with the lining... but on the hat not the goggles... go figure. I added lenses to the goggles and it makes such a difference. Pictures are coming, I promise!

Thanks for all of the kindness. You guys are keeping me smiling. ♥
