Rhinebeck Recap 2012

wool roving

Yummy wool roving... there were bags and bags and bags. You could feel the lanolin and smell the sheepiness. Heaven.

angora bunny

I really wanted to buy this rabbit. No more animals allowed in my house though.

sheepy sheep

He was for sale too. See above.

grumpy llama

This was a grumpy llama. He didn't want anyone to be near him. I wasn't going to test him. Look how gorgeous he is though.

drop spindle sally

The spindle (Sally ) I bought. I love her and try to spin a little every day.

This is perhaps my favorite festival that I make it to every year. It makes me happy to be there. See you next year, Rhinebeck!

  1. I can smell the lovely lanolin sheepiness from here. I take my drop spindle to doll shows--it always seems to fascinate kids when they see the process.

  2. Oh that will pass time at shows! I have 1 coming up I can bring it to.... Thanks for the idea. It's much more fun than just standing there!

  3. All these Rhinebeck posts make me so envious. Looks like you had a great time, sorry you didn't get your rabbit :(

  4. It was a wonderful time. Don't feel bad about the bunny. I do already have one who is loved and gets cuddled, so I thought (other than Hub's stern warnings about no more animals) it might be unfair to bring a new one home.

  5. That's funny... Hubba always tells me not to buy any animals when I go to fiber shows too. lol/

  8. Glad to have started spinning (FINALLY) too. It's very relaxing for something that's brand new.
