I guess today is a fitting day to have completed all of this fun stuff... after all here's my chance for the most sunlight in a day. Happy Summer Solstice!
I started out with a little gathering of my ready tea herbs. I have mint, applemint, spearmint, and lavender. I know there are others, but this is what I drink almost exclusively when it comes to tea. I'll be adding some lemon balm and roman chamomile once they're ready. They're all wrapped up and hanging in the greenhouse. In a few days I'll be able to test them all out.
I also have this new PINK aviator's hat finished. Finally... This was supposed to be done a few weeks ago, but with the cruise being a Dr. Destructo nightmare, there wasn't really any time. I've been catching up ever since. Anyway... I love it. It's adorable and going to a very nice home. You can order your very own here... There's 2 sizes... baby/toddler and kid/adult. Pretty nice! It's at the shop and Etsy too.
Number 6 of the Remember to Love Monsters has also graced our presence... He's listed and waiting for a nice home. You can see the rest of the not-even-close-to-being-done limited edition here.
I also made the most delicious smoothie EVER today. So I thought I'd share. I was calling it the Beam Me Up Elvis Smoothie, but that's dumb. So call it whatever you want. It reminds me of the peanut butter, jelly, and banana sandwiches that Elvis (and me!) loved... just in smoothie form.
Here are the ingredients... it'll make enough for two 8 oz. glasses.
6 ice cubes
1 medium banana
1 C. mixed frozen/fresh berries
1/2 C. plain yogurt
1/2 C. orange juice
1 tbsp peanut butter
1 tbsp honey
Blend until smooth...
This is the approximate breakdown of nutritional info.

I have those herbs, except for one or two. I can never get them to dry properly ... what's the secret?
ReplyDeleteAll I did was hang them in small bunches in the greenhouse... a friend suggested the car would work with the windows cracked. Nothing fancy. You can also use a dehydrator or oven to dry the herbs. I haven't tried those yet.
ReplyDeleteEvery time I have tried, my herbs have turned splotchy or black. It's very humid here, I always thought that was why it happened. I will try again...
ReplyDeleteHmmm. I wonder if the humidity has something to do with it. The oven on low or the dehydrator would take care of it, I'd imagine. I'm not sure as this is my first shot at drying. We've had a lot of humidity the past few days, so I'll be sure to double check. :)
