The Claw and Life's Funny Message System

I'm taking a crochet day off. My hand is sore, and for once I'll be listening to my body. I swear I turned into THE CLAW last night. We'll see if I get around to the 3 more monsters and cozies I had planned (not today). Yesterday, I probably put a good 4 hours of crocheting into my day. The kids were at the beach with Grandma & Grandpa, so I took advantage of the time alone.

Monsters Waiting to be Finished...
monsters waiting to be finished

These guys will be stuffed and eyeballs today. More stuffing work and less crocheting, which is just fine.

I also had this crazy dream last night where Eddie Vedder showed up at my house to hide out with his daughter, Eva. (I don't think he has a daughter, but what do I know... plus it's really none of my business.) They were totally chill. I didn't mind that my house was a mess or that I was in the middle of canning tomatoes. They just hung out and played with Dr. Destructo until Hubs came home.

It was a really nice dream that lingered with me. No, I'm not an Eddie Vedder stalker, but I've been listening to his ukulele music A LOT lately. It's beautiful. I'm taking the dream to mean that I should slow down and not sweat the things that I don't finish in a day. That I should enjoy my fabulous life more... and pick up my ukulele.

The timing is weird, because last night I was able to totally relax and clear my mind for the very first time ever. It was amazing. I was also struck with a melody that I haven't been able to shake. I can't wait to elaborate on it and find its chords. I'm thinking that maybe the universe is trying to tell me something. I'm trying to listen.

  1. Sometimes, we all just need a break from the things we love. The monsters can wait, sounds like you had a relaxing evening!

  2. It's hard to stop ... but we must if we want to save our joints!

    1. Oddly it's not my joints that hurt, but I'm sure they're not happy either. It's the thumb to wrist tendon on my hook hand... definitely do not want tendinitis!

  3. Glad you paid attention and love the dream! Don't know Eddie Vedder's music but am always happy to hear new things - will go look this album up!

    1. Becky, he's the lead singer for Pearl Jam... that being said, this is nothing like Pearl Jam (although they rock too). He's all grown up and ukulele-ing... and it's amazing.

  4. Listening--to your body, to the universe, to fine music--is a highly useful activity. Enjoy.

    1. I'm a little slow to learn these lessons. I had a beautiful day yesterday and feel totally refreshed today.
