The Screaming

Apparently, we have hit a rough(er) stage of development with Dr. Destructo. He's just shy of turning 3 and already we're dealing with a new found independence. This independence is accompanied with high, ear bleeding, screams of displeasure... when a certain Dr. Destructo does not get his way. Fun.

It's hard to work under these conditions. Don't worry. I'm adapting. Today, we decided that the television should go off as soon as possible. There's too much of that going on in this house. Today we found feathers and foam shapes and paper scraps and glue colored with paint!

I set him to work. He very happily (with no screeches whatsoever) sat and glued these things to the last 3 pieces of construction paper in the house. Holy crap. We (ahem* I) have realized solutions for the screaming problem... for now. Adding this one to the list of stuff he likes to do.

do-do

We also got a little while of drawing out of Dr. Destructo with some markers.  When I asked him what it was, all the while hoping he'd say a monster, he instead said, "Do-do" (a.k.a. Kiddo. Dr. Destructo refuses to call Kiddo by his name. Somehow he came up with Do-do. Whatever.) Even though he said it wasn't a monster, I'm making it into an amigurumi.

  2. Hee hee... yep. I'm thinking I have a good year of the really hard stuff left. Trying to enjoy it even though I'd like to jump out of the window sometimes. :) We'll be doing more art projects around here.
