Craft Show Crazy Discovers Garlic Scapes

This is what has been keeping me busy... along with the garden, and Dr. Destructo, and seeing all of Kiddo's baseball games, and chasing foxes away from my chickens... and my brain just blew up. Again.

Here's a few of the guys I'm bringing. I'll spend the next two days getting my act (code for monster stuff, tent, tables, miscellaneous, sanity) together, and it will be awesome. So local yokles... check it out, yo.

foccacia bread with onions and rosemary

I made foccacia bread with onions and rosemary this morning... (instead of prepping) for Kiddo's school. They're having an international luncheon, and I volunteered to make a "family" bread. We don't have one of those. I do make pizza often from scratch though, so I thought this would be close enough. It smells really good! I hope the kids at least try some.

why can't i have foccacia bread?

Aggie seemed sad that he wasn't going to have any yummy smelling foccacia bread. Oh well, Aggie.

I learned about something new in the garden the other day... thanks to Bridgett over at Rambling Designs. Garlic scapes! Holy good idea! We're big fans of garlic, and onions over here, so this is right up our alley. Apparently it also helps the garlic grow big and strong by taking the energy away from the scape thing and letting it go to the bulb. Woot! Woot! I see garlic scape pesto in my future.

I'm going to harvest them tonight!

In the meantime, head on over to Wisdom Begins in Wonder to check out the other Fiber Arts Friday happenings. It's a swell place!

    1. Ahhh the teeth... still tweaking that one. I'm hoping they go as I have new designs in my head. Making the pizza bread again tomorrow for us it was so good. I just fought with my tent and setup for an hour... hoping things go more smoothly on Sunday!

  3. I vote for Aggie to have some of the pizza bread, it's a "family bread" after all, so everyone in the family should have some. Have a good time at the fair!

    1. Hee hee... we would give him a taste, but it has the dreaded onions on it.

    1. Honestly, as long as my tent doesn't fall on me (and there is that possibility), I don't care about sales. It's a day out with other adults and where I get to talk about what I love.

  5. Wishing you great sales at the show. I know what you mean about all of the prep time beforehand.

I love your doggy photo. Too cute.

    1. Sometimes I think the prep stress is more hype than not... or I don't do enough shows. Thanks for the well wishes!

    1. Thanks. The monsters weren't cooperating and kept falling over... almost like they were goofing around for that photo!

    1. We're eating it again tonight, it was so good. The kids actually gobbled it up. I think they thought "pizza" and didn't read what was on it. Ha!

  8. I love your monsters! I want a bite of that bread as bad as Aggie does I'll bet. LittleDog did get a tiny bit of pork. I doubt that he even tasted it though. Just inhaled as usual.
