Monster Radishes

No. I didn't make monster radish dolls (although, that could be cool...).  This year I planted radishes... I have a pant load of these radishes. It's time to figure out what to do with them. Apparently (according to the internet) radishes are very good for you. They are full of vitamin C, are filling, have anti-congestive qualities, and are diuretic in nature. You're welcome. You learned something today, so you are done until tomorrow.

crochet snail pattern progress
poor snail needs a shell...

This is what I'm currently working on... a snail doll for a new crochet pattern. There will be a normal snail doll and a monster snail doll. It's no monster radish, but still rather cool.

Now onto my radish endeavors.

Radish, Apple, and Carrot Salad:

* Equal parts apple (I used Gala), carrots, and radishes (mine are a Dragon Hybrid). I probably got about 3/4 cup of each.
* Chop them as you will. I matchstick sliced mine, because I'm insane I needed the practice with my knife skills.

* Mix this in a bowl.
* Drizzle with lemon juice (about 1 tsp), balsamic vinegar and olive oil (both to taste).
* Add (sea) salt, black pepper, and garlic powder to taste and a spoonful of local honey.
* Mix well.

* Eat.

You can also put this on a sandwich as like a coleslaw sort of thing... this was a leftover BBQ chicken piece on a hamburger roll.

On a totally non-radish related note... I started this book last night. So far it's.... I don't really know. I got like 5 pages in before Dr. Destructo freaked out over something that bothers 3 year olds. I've read all bad reviews about it, but I'm going to give it a shot anyway. I'm a rebel like that.

clicking this picture will take you to Amazon... heads up.
