The Perils of Jellyfish Crochet

I didn't think that crocheted jellyfish could be dangerous... until I started thinking about putting a light in one. And I guess the jellyfish itself wouldn't be the dangerous part. It would be the cotton yarn catching on fire if this isn't done properly part. So that's what I wanted to do with this... thinking I could crochet up the jellyfish first and then sliding the bulb in didn't work out.

I'm not making this particular jellyfish into a light... as cool as it would be. I'm not giving up on my jellyfish hopes and dreams just yet though. Apparently there's a light research phase of this project... which is where I am. This particular jellyfish is going to become a stuffed jellyfish hanging ornament. It will still be cool because, well... giant jellyfish hanging ornaments are cool.

In the meantime, I'm working on my regular monsters, some new designs and starting up this guy... Part unicorn, part jellyfish, all awesome.

  3. Hee hee... my brain gets a little scary sometimes. As I was sketching it out I was thinking that there's definitely *something* off about the way I think! :)
