Change in the Air
I am a Fall chick. I love it. The coziness without freezing your butt off, the gardening being almost flippin' through, the chaos of a new school year... stuff like that floats my boat (and as I always say, "whatever floats your boat..."). It's also the time I'm not overheating when I work with yarn, and get to drink my peppermint tea in comfort again.
I'm just finishing up in the garden. I harvested my popcorn yesterday, as this weekend's rain threatened it to become too wet and rot. So into the greenhouse it went until I can get to it hopefully on Monday.

Positive Changes and New Designs
I made a new website. I know. It's been fully live for a few weeks now. I really am enjoying it though. Please have a look, and bookmark it as your Knot By Gran'ma go to. It will take you wherever you want to visit Knot By Gran'ma, and you can even shop through it. It's pretty spiffy if I do say so myself.

How to Properly Avert Disaster
I have done 2 shows the later part of this summer. I am saying it out loud. I am not really a fan of them anymore. The work is harder than I'd prefer... sometimes a disaster, there's the finding of the babysitter, and people don't spend the way they used to. (Waa, waa, waa! Call the Waaaaaaambulance. I know.) It's not often I come home from a show and say, "WOW! I cleaned up and the work and effort was TOTALLY worth it!" Actually, I've never said that. Ever.
Garrison was the biggie. It was a 2 day show at the end of August and a TON of work. I went down the night before and well... that was where the potential for disaster kicked in. Bringing Kiddo along, we got the tent set up without a problem. Then the insanity hit us... THUUUUUNDER AND LIIIIIGHTNING was everywhere. Kiddo sat happily in the middle of the tent listening to the music on my iPhone... oblivious (Oh to be 9 years old again.).

Monster Chef Presents: Freezing Zucchini
This year there's been a plethora or zucchinis in my garden. It's September and I still have a zucchini plant slowly producing. For real. We've eaten it until we're sick of it and I really don't feel like making any more loaves of zucchini bread (I never thought I'd say that!). I asked my friend, Monster Chef, what I could do. He told me to freeze it and showed me an easy method.

Political Monsters - Part 2
This is the wrap up from the first part of my politics post for the year. You can read, Political Monsters Part 1, here.
In a perfect world, this would be my ideal approach to politics (once again, call me naive... or a dreamer):

Let it Rain, Let it Thunder, I've a Plan to Fix my Home
We moved in this house about 6 years ago. At the time I had this wild notion that I should have a bright purple bedroom (barf), haven't touched the 60's kitchen really, have a bathroom that screams, "please throw up as you look at this hideous wallpaper!"... and just the dire need to repaint EVERYTHING. It's a little daunting and overwhelming.
The main problem that is slowing things (aside from the lack of money to just overhaul everything... good thing I'm crafty) is the 6 years of clutter and mess that is also EVERYWHERE. Clutter is loud to me, distracting, and makes it hard for me to concentrate. That is job number 1. I'm slowly formulating a totally cheap, wicked awesome, and TOTAL house makeover... including an amazing craft studio/closet. I'm pretty psyched.
I'm formulating a house palette and style over on Pinterest. It's names "End of Summer Inspiration," because I couldn't come up with anything cool. I only have a few things in there so far. I want my house to SCREAM charming yet simple cottage, with a splash of beautiful color here and there... farmhouse (it's a ranch).
